The Repton School Derby

The Repton School Derby is held annually, at the famous Derwent Valley Sports Centre in Repton. The name of the school actually derives from the name of the town which is Repton-on-Avon, and was built in 1849. Repton School stands for the entire range of denominational activities including athletics, academic and extra-curricular pursuits, while maintaining an attitude to inclusion and diversity.

A large number of Repton students are from families that were not originally from the English speaking world, but have made a home here in the United Kingdom. Some students come from extremely poor backgrounds and may have trouble adjusting to life in a formal classroom. However, there are an abundance of after school programs and after school clubs, as well as peer support that make it possible for these children to succeed in a regular school setting. This is important to many parents because they want their children to excel in life and Repton School has set a sterling example with their initiatives to help kids who otherwise may struggle.

There is a large emphasis on academics at Repton, and many of the schools have excellent rankings. This reflects the standard of education that you will receive if you enroll at Repton School. Another plus for parents to look for a place for their child to gain a college education is that all of the schools are state funded and have excellent curricula. This is great news for families who do not have the money to send their kids to private schools, or for those who simply cannot afford to do so.

Most of the students who begin attending Repton School are from some of the most unfortunate areas of society, which helps to provide the nurturing atmosphere that is so critical to Repton's children. The school works closely with local councilors and other government workers to help get children out of low income housing and into middle-class homes. By helping these students attain a decent living they will be better prepared for life. This is another important element of the Repton School that draws in many students.

It is natural to be concerned about the possibility of your child being injured in a game of the boys' basketball derby. The Repton School has strict policies regarding sportsmanship, and physical contact among its students. All players and spectators are expected to adhere to Repton School's Athletic Policies. Even if a Repton School student is involved in an off-campus incident, the school will handle the situation in an impartial manner. The safety of every student in the derby is the school's number one priority.

The Repton School Derby takes place annually during the month of March. The derby is one of the largest in the world, drawing crowds of hundreds of thousands. Local residents pack into the Grand Star Arena to watch the race. This provides a wonderful chance for the residents of Marble Falls to enjoy a show while getting in shape for the coming year.
